Bundu mask for Sande society, it has a stylized female face with bands of fat at the neck, an ornate hairdress carved with large cowrie shells in relief, with three knob top knots. Wood with black stain and long, black raffia fiber. Mende peoples, Sierra Leone, Africa. 20th century. |
