The naturalistic mask of striking beauty, the coif as two raised and pointed upswept braids, with hair to the sides and well rendered with incising, the forehead bulbous with a long ridge and beautifully carved face with gentle nose and open mouth presenting teeth. The ears well balanced. Overall excellent patina. A fantastic example of the rare naturalistic type of this mask. Date of manufacture: Late 19th or early 20th Century |
