Rider belonging to a three piece set (rider 2005.3.36.A, horse 2005.3.36.B, base 2005.3.36.C). Sitting on his horse holding a spear in his left hand as his right arm hangs just above the right knee. Three stylized square objects on shoulders and abdomen areas. A circular shape on chest and all shapes repeated on back of figure. Horse's head is lowered. Horse and rider. Dogon, African equestrian figure rendered in cast bronze. 20th century. |
