Description |
Carved and painted wooden female face mask in the form of a long oval face with slits for eyes, modeled adn articulted facial features including arched eyebrows, protruding nose, and open mouth. Small circular holes run around the side edges that are used to attach the mask to a textile costume. Dan peoples, 19th-20th century. Africa, Cote d'Ivoire. |
