Description |
Street scene in vibrant pastel hues, surrounded on all sides by a border of robin's egg blue border. From lower left thru the midpoint, several elegantly dressed people sit at cafe tables drinking, conversing, & reading while being served wine, drinks by waiters. Above them, upper-center, is a pink & white striped overhang with "Cafe de la Paix" written in orange. To the upper-right, a statue of a winged figure stands atop a classical building, gesturing towards a French flag waving from a striped flagpole with poster, guarded by a soldier. More figures are in the street lower-right: the soldier, a man handing out newspapers, and a woman walking a black poodle on a leash while motioning to call an white poodle in the center that has run off. Furthest to the right, a man drives a carriage with a horse breaking slightly into the border, exiting the frame. |
