The nose is shorter with a thin bridge and a wide tip. The mouth has 6 silver colored metal teeth embedded in the inferior surface of the upper lip. Beneath the pointed chin is a woven raffia beard. The surface of the mask is a black color. The holes in the edges of the mask served to hold a cloth head covering attached by a word. At the bottom rear of the mask is a carved round hole that directly connects with the opening between the lips. This space served in ceremonial performances for vocal sounds created by the dancer. |
