Description |
This mask has an oval shaped face, prominent forehead, circular cutouts for eyes, wide, open, elliptical lips and a pointed chin. The nose is shorter but the bridge and tip are wide. There is a small metal nail at the top of the forehead. The surface of the mask is black with some scratches and residual white Kaolin at the top and forehead. Under the nose are protruding rounded lips with a small ellipse opening making the lips slightly parted. This mouth opening was used for vocal sounds from the dancer. There are holes surrounding the perimeter of the mask. These holes were placed to thread cord through them in order to attach the mask to a dancer's head. |
